Uncle Sam (a.k.a., Roy McFaddin, owner of "Liberty Sign And Mirror") announces the new "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" campaign!
.
The objective is to have Uncle Sam and his "Pledge Of Allegiance Truck" actually visit schools thru-out Oregon to make a fun, short "presentation" explaining exactly who Uncle Sam is and how important the "Pledge Of Allegiance" is!

unclesamfulltruck1.jpg

This short "presentation" includes a gift to the schools accepting Uncle Sam's visit, which is an engraved display of the "Pledge Of Allegiance" with the Stars and Stripes in the background and a place for the name of the school and the date of Uncle Sam's visit to that school!
.

These engraved gifts of the "Pledge Of Allegiance" to the schools are also edge-illuminated with state-of-the-art L.E.D. lights (see photos below).

Uncle Sam (Roy McFaddin) has many years of greeting wonderful Americans in various parades, locations and occasions, such as the unique "Turkey-Rama Parade" in McMinnville, Oregon, where local veterans were also honored (above photo shows the Navy, Army and Air Force representatives in this particular parade).

Americans love to have their photo taken with Uncle Sam!  Above show one of the portable displays Uncle Sam can bring with him to various schools to have photos taken with Uncle Sam........and----if they'd like to----they could also hold an American Flag, a quote from Ben Franklin or even one of the 10 Commandment Plaques during the photo-shoot!

Above is one of the photos with Uncle Sam taken at the "Occupy Scio" event on Oct. 19, 2011.  This event was a very, very positive and patriotic "occupation" of the little town of Scio; please read the "Placards" we're holding up and see what happened at this wonderful event!

us7meholding2bigones.jpg

Above shows one of the "gift engraving displays" having the Pledge Of Allegiance with the Stars and Stripes in the background that will be given to those schools accepting a visit from Uncle Sam so he can give a short presentation about just who Uncle Sam is and why the Pledge Of Allegiance is so important to our country!

us7meholding2bigones.jpg

Above are larger versions of the "gift displays" with the Pledge Of Allegiance and the Stars and Stripes that Uncle Sam will give to schools accepting a visit from him!

audiehek1.jpg

Above is a photo of Audie Heikkila and Uncle Sam; Audie was a key part of the "Occupy Scio" event, because he was the "Evil Capitalist" owner of the Scio Feed Store where Patriotic Americans eagerly spent money on Oct. 19th to help stimulate the economy in Scio in a real, effective and efficient way.........and had fun at the same time!

audiehek3.jpg

Above is the "10 Commandments Trailer" that the "Pledge Of Allegiance Truck" sometimes pulls with it during parades and special events.  Surrounding the "10 Commandment Plaques" on this trailer are 20 or so quotes from George Washington and from other Great Americans in which they are promoting Christian Values.

So........Uncle Sam is asking you to please get involved in the new "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" campaign!!!

How can you get involved in a practical way to make this campaign successful and get our kids excited about Uncle Sam, The Pledge Of Allegiance and other basic elements of our American Heritage?

You can be a Sponsor of the "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" campaign by helping to cover the operating expenses, which include:

1.  Yearly insurance costs for the "Pledge Of Allegiance Truck" (which amounts to $142 every 6 months)

2.  The vehicle registration stickers for the "Pledge Of Allegiance Truck" (are $86 per year)

3.  Fuel and mechanical/maintenance costs (lube/oil/filter; tires; brakes; alignment, etc.) for the "Pledge Of Allegiance Truck".  (rough monthly estimate = $300)

4.  Costs for Uncle Sam's meals and motels as he travels thru-out Oregon in the "Pledge Of Allegiance Truck" to reach all of the schools in Oregon (did you know that there are about 1,400 public and private schools in Oregon, elementary thru high school?)  (rough monthly estimate = $400)

5.  Costs for an Assistant to help Uncle Sam set-up and then dismantle various displays, graphics and audio-visual components for an effective little "presentation".  (rough monthly estimate = $500)

6.  Costs for producing and giving away the engraved displays (approx. 18" x 24" x 1/2" thick) that depict the Pledge Of Allegiance and the Stars and Stripes that are also customized to be engraved for the specific schools accepting a visit from Uncle Sam and also the date of this visit.  These displays are also edge-illuminated with state-of-the-art L.E.D. lights.  (rough cost per customized display = $200)

7.  Costs for other misc. "mementos" that Uncle Sam would be handing out to the kids during these presentations (which could include little flags, buttons, stickers and nice little copies of the Pledge Of Allegiance, the Bill Of Rights and the Constitution, etc.).  (rough monthly estimate = $400)

8.  Costs for a specific website that would be exclusively dedicated to the "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" campaign, that would include a "webmaster" and other misc. expenses associated with such a website, especially designed so that this website also becomes a useful and "educational tool" for the kids as well.  (rough monthly cost = $150)

9.  Costs for custom banners, hand-outs and other graphics to keep the "Pledge Of Allegiance Truck" and the "10 Commandment Trailer" up to date as it is used at various parades and events that would further promote the "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" on-going campaign.  We need several of these new banners for the Veteran's Day Parade to be held in Albany on Nov. 11, which is an ideal event to promote our campaign, because this 60th Anniversary of the Veteran's Day Parade in Albany is the "largest Veteran's Day Parade west of the Mississippi" with over 40,000 spectators!!!  (rough monthly estimate = $100)

10.  Many other misc. operating costs that also include a regular "Uncle Sam Costume Dry Cleaning Bill", a secondary "Uncle Sam Costume" for back-up while one costume is being cleaned, etc., and other "hidden" costs to make sure that this on-going, state-wide "educational campaign" is indeed effective and successful to help kids get excited about and get them interested in our basic American Heritage that includes many other things besides just Uncle Sam and the "Pledge Of Allegiance".  (rough monthly estimate = $100)

So, you can see that there are indeed "operating expenses" for this "campaign" involving Uncle Sam!    We'd like to make this an official "501 3C" Non-Profit Organization, but we'd like to "get the ball rolling NOW" and not wait to jump thru all of the hoops involved and the expenses of a lawyer, etc., especially since we'd like to take advantage of the very unique opportunity to advertise the "Help Uncle Sam Visit Schools" campaign at the historic 60th Anniversary of the Veterans Day Parade in Albany on Nov. 11!!!

Please, please help Uncle Sam make this patriotic and educational campaign for our kids as successful as soon as possible by making a check out to "Liberty Sign And Mirror Company" and send it to the address at the top of this website, located in Monmouth, Oregon!    Uncle Sam thanks you.......and so will the kids!!!

flagbb2.jpg

This larger 41" x 41" x 1/2" thick acrylic version, above, of the "Pledge Of Allegiance" and the Flag would be an appropriate size for Uncle Sam to give as a gift to a larger high school after his presentation. You can start to see the edge-illumination obtained by the L.E.D. lights.

flagbb1.jpg

Here is the same 41" x 41" x 1/2" thick display, but in a "daylight window" installation without using the edge-illumination of the L.E.D. lights.  You can see that the words of the "Pledge" are engraved very deeply into this 1/2" thick piece of clear acrylic.

Uncle Sam is asking you to please participate and get involved in this unique campaign involving the schools in Oregon!  Please  choose  your  desired  level  of  Sponsorship  at  these  9 different  levels:

1.  The "First Lieutenant" level  at $5 ; 2.  The "Captain" level at $10 ; 3.  The "Major" level  at $20 ; 4.  The "Lieutenant Colonel" level at $50 ; 5.  The "Colonel" level at $100 ; 6.  The "Brigadier General" level at $500 ; 7.  The "Major General" level at $1,000 ; 8.  The "Lieutenant General" level at $2,500 ; 9.  The "General" level at $5,000

Please choose your desired level of Sponsorship and then make a check payable to "Liberty Sign And Mirror" and then send it to the Monmouth, Oregon address at the top of this website.  We do want to make "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" campaign a fully "501 C3" non-profit organization, but that takes time.  We'd like to announce this "campaign" in a big way for the Veterans Day Parade in Albany on Nov. 11, just a few days away, so that's why we're "fast-tracking" the campaign in this way at this time.

Sponsors for "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" campaign will recieve an acknowledgement letter and attractive vinyl sticker/display (coordinated with one of the "9 levels of Sponsorship" described above), as well as recognition in this website and also possibly on the "Pledge Of Allegiance Truck" as well (with that Sponsor's approval, of course!).  Recognition as a Sponsor can be a valuable and patriotic way for small businesses to do a little bit of very positive "advertising" too!   For example, it would be really neat-o if a wonderful Oregon business like Les Schwab Tires became "the Official Sponsor providing the tires, lube, oil and filter for the Pledge Of Allegiance Truck" for a year or so!   If a business like Les Schwab Tires became a Sponsor like that, they would DEFINITELY get recognition on the "Pledge Of Allegiance Truck" itself!  Having Les Schwab Tires recognized in this campaign during the Veterans Day Parade in Albany on the 11th (with 40,000 spectators) would be great for this campaign and everyone involved!

Since this "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" campaign was initially inspired by a gentleman from a VFW Post in Albany getting his photo taken with Uncle Sam at the "Occupy Scio" event that was created and promoted by Bill Post at 1430 KYKN Radio, it would be REALLY cool if all 57 VFW Posts in the State of Oregon AND 1430 KYKN Radio also became sponsors..........and ALSO got recognition at the historic Veterans Day Parade in Albany in a few days on Nov. 11 !!!    Why not???    I sincerely hope that these fine organizations and businesses (Les Schwab Tires, the 57 VFW Posts in Oregon and 1430 KYKN Radio.....and even the "Scio Feed" store in Scio itself!) will ALL consider becoming an active part of the "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" campaign and ALL get exposure on the "Pledge Of Allegiance Truck" during the Veterans Day Parade in Albany on Nov. 11 !!!

audiegivingUncleSammoney.jpg

Thank you Audie Heikklia, for being the "Official First Sponsor, Colonel Level" to help fund "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" campaign!   Yes......the owner of "Scio Feed & Country Store, Inc." in Scio, Oregon is the very first "Sponsor" for this patriotic and educational campaign!   Audie mentioned that "I always wanted to be a Colonel".......yep, there is NOW a "Colonel Audie" in the "Uncle Sam Campaign To Visit The Schools In Oregon"!   What rank would YOU like to be in this campaign???

The "Presentation" will be a 30-40 fun little "talk" by Uncle Sam to the kids, where he will describe and illustrate "12 Reasons To Love America"..........using 12 very unique and creative "Posters" that have remotely-controlled L.E.D. lights to keep the attention of the kids!

Very briefly, these "12 Reasons To Love America" are:

America is the best place in the world where (1) Citizens Govern Themselves; (2) where you can say "It's The Land Of The Free"; (3) where there are Equal Rights; (4) where your Dreams Can Come True; (5) where there's a High Standard Of Living; (6) where there's the World's Melting Pot; (7) where the Greatest Defender Of Freedom Exists; (8) where there's the Finest Universities and Research Institutions and where a Record Number Of Inventions and Discoveries have been made; (9) where you'll find the Most Generous People; (10) where there's the Greatest Marketplace For The Free Exchange Of Ideas And Information; (11) where there's the best place in the world to find National Self-Renewal and.........(12) where there's the best place in the world to be Free To Worship Or Not To Worship God in your own way.

Uncle Sam does need your help in order to successfully produce and maintain this creative and educational service to Oregon's schools........otherwise, it's just not going to work.   Roy McFaddin (a.k.a. Uncle Sam) wishes that he was "independently wealthy" so he could just do this campaign all on his own.........but that's simply not the case!

Please get involved in "Help Uncle Sam Visit The Schools" campaign.  If all it accomplishes is to just help spark an interest in the kids to become a little more interested in American History and finally know just who "Uncle Sam" is, then it's worth the effort.......wouldn't you agree?   And, remember that Uncle Sam will be giving a very nice, customized, engraved and edge-lighted acrylic display of the Pledge Of Allegiance with the Stars and Stripes in the background to each school allowing Uncle Sam to give his little "presentation" (a "long-lasting reminder" of Uncle Sam's visit for all of the kids going thru that particular school for years and years).

And, doesn't America NEED as many examples of positive and Patriotic projects as possible, WITHOUT any governmental agency or any tax-payer money being involved in it?   You bet America does!!!

So, please don't just sit on the sidelines.........GET  INVOLVED!!!

Please consider becoming a Sponsor at one of the "9 Levels" as described above (and we'll mail back to you a nice "Certificate Of Participation" coordinated with the "Level" that you choose).

Uncle Sam sincerely thanks you for your help!!!

And now we resume the normal website dedicated to the unique engraved products designed and produced by the Liberty Sign And Mirror Company:

Introducing the "Wowzerwall", which incorporates a unique combination of deeply-engraved 1/2" thick clear-cast acrylic, multi-stage sandblasting and state-of-the-art, computer-controlled L.E.D. lights positioned on the top and bottom edges.  The "Wowzerwall" is a specialty product of Liberty Sign And Mirror, LLC, of Monmouth, Oregon and it is also the legal, registered trademark for this product.

Above is the "World's First Wowzerwall" at the Grand Hotel in Salem, Oregon (7' x 14' x 1/2")

These unique edgelit engravings needed a unique name, so Roy McFaddin (artist/owner of Liberty Sign And Mirror, LLC), who noticed that the word "WOW" was frequently the response when these projects were completed, invented the nick-name "Wowzer", which stands for Walls Of Wonder Zestfully Engraved by Roy.

There are 5 Good Reasons why you should consider using the latest, state-of-the-art L.E.D. lights:
First, they are very efficient and consume very little power (electrical consumption can go down by as much as 80% when switching from flourescent, incandescent or halogen lamps).
Second, they have virtually no heat.
Third, they last a very, very long time (100,000 hours or so), with little or no maintenance.
Fourth, low voltage (such as 12 or 24 VDC) makes them safer to use than lighting requiring line or high voltage.
Fifth, the "controllers" for the L.E.D. lights now provide a wonderful array of computerized "routines" and special effects (such as "rainbow", "sequential", "random", "flashing" and others) which can all be "speeded-up", "slowed-down" or even indefinitely "paused" on the exact color or color combination that you may want for your specific environment.

Above show L.E.D. lights & 2 types of aluminum extrusions which hold 1/2" thick acrylic.
clwdet1.jpg
Above shows the 1/2" thick acrylic inserted into the extrusion.

Above shows 1/2" thick acrylic (which has been deeply engraved and also sandblasted) inserted into the custom aluminum extrusions that also contain the computerized L.E.D. lights.  You can see how the acrylic does not actually "touch" the L.E.D. lights, but rests on a small aluminum "ledge" directly above the lights.

Deeply-engraved clear cast acrylic that has also been multi-stage sandblasted for a variety of subtle tones is the ideal material to "show-off" the brilliant colors now available with the recent improvements in L.E.D. light technology.  When L.E.D. lights are placed on the top and bottom edges of the acrylic the engraved areas "capture" the color very, very well (the deeper the acrylic is engraved, the more color is captured......which is why we prefer to use 1/2" thick acrylic!).
