About Us.......Liberty Sign And Mirror, LLC

The "Liberty Mirror" and Roy McFaddin (on the left) shaking hands with a Fort Hood official.

Roy McFaddin (artist/owner of Liberty Sign And Mirror, LLC) has supervised and directed a large staff of highly-qualified artists/engravers/sandblasters to provide comprehensive and highly unique signage and decorative products for primarily the commercial market since 1978 (for hotels, casinos, resorts, banks, colleges, churches, etc.) but has also provided custom products for private residences.  The largest single project Roy has designed and produced thus far in his own company has been the $250,000 signage and etched glass/mirror decor project for the Shilo Suites Hotel by the Portland, Oregon Airport.
Roy graduated with honors from the Los Angeles Art Center College of Design in 1972 (BFA degree with honors in the field of illustration).  After working as an illustrator in an advertising agency for some time, he met an owner of a sign shop which specialized in the sandblasting of wood and other materials and Roy became interested enough to start working at that particular sign shop in Portland, Oregon.  Thus started Roy's venture into this field, which he has continued to the present, altered with new machinery and materials that provide the latest in 3-dimensional engraved and sandblasted signage and wall decor.
Roy's favorite medium now to work in is 1/2" thick clear acrylic which is deeply-engraved and then edge-illuminated with state-of-the-art L.E.D. lights, such as depicted below in the "Wowserwall Cabinet" that is designed for use in schools.

Above is the "Wowserwall" designed to promote understanding of American History.

Engraving 1/2" thick acrylic and then edge-illuminating it with state-of-the-art L.E.D. lights is Roy's favorite "creative visual medium" by far because of the many, many wonderful effects and moods that can be displayed.  This combination of engraved acrylic and L.E.D. lights is extremely versatile.

Above shows how new "Words Of Wisdom" can be inserted into the "Wowserwall Cabinet".

The "Wowserwall" (above and below) is designed to help promote a better understanding of American History and showcases "words and wisdom" of past and present Americans.  "Wowser" is acronym that stands for "Words Of Wisdom Says the Excellent and the Renown".....again, referring to words such as those above by John Adams.

Above shows the very rich colors available with L.E.D. lights.....constantly changing.

Combining computer-cut colored vinyl (in both opaque and translucent types) on the engraved acrylic gives further versatility and effects, as shown above with the red, white and blue opaque vinyl applied for the stars and stripes.

Very fine detail in both the engraving and sandblasting of clear acrylic is possible!

Above shows the 1/2" thick acrylic edges, which have been polished; also you can see how subtle the color can change (and remember......any color sequence can be indefinitely "frozen" in place per your desire by virtue of the latest computerized "controllers" that accompany the L.E.D. lights).

3 dimensional "Gems" in acrylic with L.E.D. lights highlighting the engraving!

"Multi-stage" sandblasting effects give subtle "tones" to the images; the engraving "defines" these tonal areas as well.  A good example of this is the detail photo of the eagle at the above right.

Whether it may be a complete identification/directional signage system and wall decor for a new hotel, casino resort, bank, college, church, private residence.......or even a 100' long "Citizen's Monument" that can be changed and updated for decades......may we design and produce something for you?
